THE SYMPTOMS

He he he... In my attempt to tell you about the symptoms of MS, I have in listed the help of some of my fellow friends. Please remember that MS patients will not have all these symptoms, it is dependent on the person and how the condition affects them

You might think that people with ms are lazy, but this is not the case. The condition takes away the persons energy and makes them feel tired and fatigued for a lot of the time. I too suffer from fatigue, but for a totally different reason.

When you see people with ms walk, they may look a little drunk. This is because they struggle with balance and coordination. This is something I understand completely.

Some people with ms have trouble with their eyes; it does not affect all, but can give some blurry vision, double vision or even a loss of vision

Sometimes it can be hard to word find or you may even forget something, an example would be when you're talking about something you forget what you were talking about. These are what people call cognitive problems.

Hey hey hey for some, ms results in feeling more emotional, so things that were once funny are now hilarious

A very common symptom is pins and needles in the body; this is especially common in the hands. It gives the individual a "buzzing" feeling under the skin. In some cases these leads to numbness and lack of sensation in parts of the body.

I can understand how people with ms feel, as they may struggle with strength in certain parts of their bodies, such as their legs.  At times they may need help or assistance from others.

image

Mobility also starts to become an issue as ms dudes may find it difficult walking and moving around, particularly if they have muscle stiffness or spasticity.

Twitching or jerking muscles. Such as involuntary leg movements, they can be troublesome at night or while sleeping, as they May also cause cramps. It can be frustrating, as it may lead to an uncomfortable nights sleep.

image

Temperature sensitivity, such as hot baths and saunas. Also cold breezes can be uncomfortable. This can result parts of the body feeling very hot or very cold; such as around the feet.

MSers may get sudden pains in their bodies, which feel very cold. This has been known to occur around the ankles and in the back of the neck. It feels like a sudden chill and trust me, I know all about sudden chills! For MSers it feels like someone is holding an ice cube to these areas.

Conditions such as foot drop mean it can be more of a struggle when walking and getting about.

image

Burning, cold and itching sensations without apparent cause. Also add to this electric shock sensation. These are feelings that they'll get all of a sudden. They can be uncomfortable and happen at random times.

Hi dr nick here, Numbness and loss of sensation. This can lead to a Loss of awareness of where body parts are this kind of ties in with coordination.
